Ar De Arte - Codfish with Garlic and Black Pepper

£8.95

Cod comes in sturdy chunks, bathed in olive oil that tastes of garlic and peppercorn. The fish has a gentle flake and a little bounce, with the edges turning silky once the oil hits your tongue. Garlic reads as pungent and nutty, and the pepper brings a quick heat that sits at the back of the throat. The oil carries a grassy note and a mild bitterness.

It’s the sort of tin that disappears while you’re standing at the counter. Serve with boiled potatoes and let the oil run over everything.

Ingredients: Codfish (Gadus morhua) (63,6 %), extra virgin olive oil (34,8%), garlic and black pepper. Contains: Fish.

Net Weight: 110g

About Ar De Arte

Alejandro Canedo launched Ar de Arte in 2019 from a simple conviction that Galician seafood deserves better than mass production. This small cannery produces premium Spanish tinned fish exclusively from Rías Baixas waters, hand-selecting each piece and packing every tin individually.

Their scallops come from waters that produce some of Europe's sweetest shellfish. The mussels deliver clean brininess that reflects these nutrient-rich estuaries. Their sardines show the bright character that makes Galician fish worth seeking out.

Each tin receives individual attention—no batch processing, no shortcuts. The seafood arrives fresh from local boats, gets prepared using traditional Spanish conservas methods, and is packed by hand one tin at a time. This approach means limited quantities but consistent quality.

The tins feature original artwork by Galician painter Fernando Rei Castiñeira, connecting each conserva to the region's artistic heritage alongside its culinary reputation.
