Ar De Arte - Mussel Pate

£5.45

Paté de Mexillóns

From the nutrient rich waters of the Rías Baixas estuaries, these mussels are steamed just enough to coax out their briny sweetness, then blended with sunflower oil, garlic, bay leaf, and a whisper of spice into a smooth, dense paté that holds its shape on the knife before softening as it warms. The flavour is direct: mussel first, saline and faintly sweet, followed by garlic that sits low and steady, with bay leaf bringing an earthy, herbal edge.

It eats rich but clean, with a finish that stays close to the sea, with enough texture to remind you where it comes from. Serve on blini with a few drops of lemon juice or scoop with raw vegetable sticks.

Ingredients: Mussels (Mollusc), sunflower oil, bay leaf, garlic, salt and spices.

Net Weight: 90g

About Ar De Arte

Alejandro Canedo launched Ar de Arte in 2019 from a simple conviction that Galician seafood deserves better than mass production. This small cannery produces premium Spanish tinned fish exclusively from Rías Baixas waters, hand-selecting each piece and packing every tin individually.

Their scallops come from waters that produce some of Europe's sweetest shellfish. The mussels deliver clean brininess that reflects these nutrient-rich estuaries. Their sardines show the bright character that makes Galician fish worth seeking out.

Each tin receives individual attention—no batch processing, no shortcuts. The seafood arrives fresh from local boats, gets prepared using traditional Spanish conservas methods, and is packed by hand one tin at a time. This approach means limited quantities but consistent quality.

The tins feature original artwork by Galician painter Fernando Rei Castiñeira, connecting each conserva to the region's artistic heritage alongside its culinary reputation.
