ATI Manel resurrects the spirit of Luís Mendonça's great-grandfather Manel, a mid-20th century canning pioneer whose forgotten enterprise lay dormant until a basement discovery sparked inspiration. When Luís unearthed lithographic stones and handwritten recipe books from the 1940s, he inherited not just artefacts but a living heritage.
Together with Adriano Ribeiro (co-founder of José Gourmet), Luís faithfully restored his ancestor's traditional Portuguese canning methods while adapting them to modern standards. Sourcing exclusively from Portugal and neighbouring Galicia, ATI Manel's premium conservas showcase ancestral recipes enhanced with subtle contemporary touches.
The brand's distinctive packaging maintains authentic formulations—from precise oil selection for sardines to proper garlic sauce for octopus. Each tin represents both family legacy and culinary revival of seafood delicacies presented in faithful recipes.
