National Treasures - Six British Tins
There’s been a quiet resurgence in British tinned fish.
Our tinned fish industry had effectively vanished when Sea Sisters opened their Bridport cannery in 2022 - the first in decades. They source from British boats, hand-pack each tin, and focus on treating local seafood with care.
Mitch Tonks came from a different direction. The Seahorse Restaurant in Dartmouth built his reputation, then fishmongers, then tins. His operation sends Brixham-landed fish to Spain for canning at one of Europe's oldest canneries.
Two approaches to the same idea: good British fish, treated seriously.
The tins in this set:
Rockfish - South Coast Squid in Ink Sauce
Rockfish - Brixham Crabmeat
Rockfish - British Mackerel Escabeche
Sea Sisters - Welsh Cockles with Chilli and Garlic
Sea Sisters - Oak Smoked Rainbow Trout
Sea Sisters - Cornish Sardines with Rosemary & Capers
