Sound Seafood – Scottish Mackerel in Olive Oil

£4.95

This mackerel is caught by Sound Seafood’s own crews in the cold, deep waters off the Scottish coast, landed fresh into Peterhead, and packed in light Olive Oil. The fillets are plump and rich, with a firm texture and rich flavour that’s balanced by the smooth olive oil. There’s no fishiness here, just the clean, robust taste of wild Scottish mackerel, handled with care from boat to tin.

Sound Seafood’s fishermen work with the seasons and tides, using methods that prioritise the health of the stock and the ecosystem. The mackerel is landed fresh, filleted by hand, and packed in olive oil to preserve its natural richness.

This is the ideal tin for the healthy salads and simple suppers that sunny days bring to mind.

Ingredients: Mackerel (scomber scombrus) (fish) olive oil, salt.

Net weight: 125g

About Sound Seafood

Sound Seafood is a family-run fishing company based on the shores of Plymouth Sound, where five generations have caught and smoked wild British fish. They work with their own crews and trusted local fishermen, using traditional methods to land fish from the waters around Devon, Cornwall and Aberdeenshire.

Since 2018, they’ve run a discard-free fishery, using onboard CCTV to monitor catches and collaborate with scientists on stock health. Their vessels have hosted over 1,000 fishery researchers, contributing to government surveys that help protect Britain’s marine ecosystems. They also invest in apprenticeship programs, training the next generation of fishermen to keep coastal communities alive.
