Tenorio - Tuna Fillet in Brine

£4.95

Sometimes a tin of tuna in brine is exactly what a late lunch requires. These Atlantic bonito fillets arrive clean and light, preserved simply with water and salt that lets the fish speak clearly.

The texture flakes beautifully - tender enough to break apart easily, firm enough to hold its character when you're mixing it through potato salad, fresh with entirely too much dill, or stirred into rice with cucumber and a handful of garden mint. There's something particularly satisfying about tuna that tastes primarily of itself. Azorean waters produce fish with a full, pleasant character that this gentle preservation captures well.

Ingredients: Tuna (70%), water (29%), salt.

Net Weight: 120g

About Tenorio

In the remote Atlantic archipelago of the Azores, Tenorio tuna fillets carry forward a tradition begun by Francisco Rodriguez Tenório in 1880. His original "Tuna in escabeche" established a standard for quality that continues through Cofaco's premium line today.

What distinguishes these tins is the remarkably clean flavour of bonito tuna, hand-prepared by skilled workers who maintain century-old methods. Each fillet is packed with olive oil and a touch of salt, allowing the fish's natural richness to shine through.

These fillets make brilliant quick meals—spread on crusty bread, tossed through pasta with lemon, or simply enjoyed straight from the tin with a glass of crisp white wine.

This is tinned tuna as it should be—simple, pure and treated with respect from ocean to plate.
