About NURI

NURI produces Portugal's most recognized tinned seafood from their Matosinhos factory. Founded in 1920, they still use traditional hand-preparation methods throughout their production process.

Their product range includes Atlantic sardines, mackerel and other fish preserved in olive oil, with variations featuring spices, tomato or lemon. Each tin goes through a 37-step process that maintains the fish's natural texture and flavor.

The factory employs skilled workers who select, prepare and pack each fish by hand. Many employees are from families who have worked with NURI for generations.

Their paper-wrapped tins are well-known among food enthusiasts worldwide. NURI continues to work with small fishing operations that use sustainable practices, maintaining quality standards that have defined their products for over a century.
